The account
The ice took her slowly, beams cracking like artillery while the crew stood on the floe and watched their ship die. Shackleton's order was simple: every man comes home. Eight hundred miles of open polar sea in a rowboat, and not one was lost. The ship herself waited a century in the stillest water on Earth, and when the cameras found her in 2022 she stood upright on the seabed, the name across her stern still bright: ENDURANCE.
