The account
Eleven riddles. One bronze owl, buried at night by a man who carried the answer to his grave in 2009, and still France kept digging: thirty-one years of ruined gardens, strained marriages, and church floors prodded by flashlight. Then, on the 3rd of October, 2024, a verified find, near a standing stone at Dabo. The owl was real after all. Somewhere tonight, ten thousand solvers are rereading riddle eight, wondering how they missed it.
How it was found
- The most famous armchair treasure hunt in France: a 1993 book hid clues to a buried bronze owl. People searched for 31 years, and the winning solver finally dug it up in 2024.
