On Cutting a Proper Plug
Leave the surface as if you were never there.
A clean plug keeps grass alive and landowners happy. Cut a three-sided flap, fold it back on the hinge, and keep the soil on a cloth so nothing scatters.
Retrieve the target, refill, press the plug back, and step it down. Done well, the spot disappears within days.
